This summer Ian Ferrier is touring with the release of his new book Bear Dreams

(Popolo Press 2016 ISBN 978-0- 9937992-3- 5).

The book is a collection of the poems and stories that went into creating For Body and Light’s acclaimed spoken word and dance show of the same title, which Ian and For Body and Light performed 25 times in Western Canada last year. It completes a cycle that started with his book Coming & Going (Popolo Press 2015).

The two books—Bear Dreams and Coming & Going will also be available in a two volume set, packaged in a letterpress slipcover, and entitled Texts for Body and Light. Ians work is known across Canada, in New York and in Europe. Rooted in poetry, his live performances are an absorbing blend of whispered and spoken word and trance guitar. His signature is the quiet, compelling voice at the centre of every piece.

Noted poetry translator Marie Frankland is currently assembling a selection of his poems for publication in French by Editions du Noroît in 2017.
